PLAYER DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARCHIP PROGRAM

Recreational: Boys and girls ages 5 to 12. A developmental program providing healthy activity, emphasizing enjoyment and development over competition.
- A program that allows kids to have fun, make mistakes, and learn.
- For the player ages Under 5 - Under 11 who is primarily interested in fun,
   fitness and friendship.
- Able to play within own community.
- Philosophy is striving to give every participant substantial playing time.
- Get involved in the future of the City of Pittsburg.

Competitive: Boys and girls ages 13 to 18. Programs for the more
committed player.
- Part of more than 100 competitive players registered on competitive leagues.
- Provides the more committed for ages Under 12 - Under 18 players the
   opportunity to advance their skills through higher competition.
- Get involved in the future of the City of Pittsburg.

What Does It Take To Play College Soccer?

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a student in grades K-12.
- High School students must hold a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
- Must play soccer and be an active soccer player. (for League play only)
- Monthly submission of School Report Card.
- Must be a resident of Pittsburg California and attend Pitsburg schools for the past
   6 months.
- Plan to attend high school college or university program, or vocational/technical
   institute.
- Prior recipients are not eligible to apply.       

Please attach the following as proof of financial need along with this completed application.
- Copy of most recent Federal and State tax returns for all adults in the household.
- Proof of eligibility for school lunch programs or other assistance.
- Statement of extraordinary circumstances that make it difficult to pay the Soccer
   Academic, or club Fees.
- Letter explaining; 1) why you are requesting a scholarship, 2) why you want to
   play for the PPSC.
- Latest School Report Card.

Without this information, you will not be considered a candidate for a scholarship.

SELECTION CRITERIA: One award per applicant.  First come, first served.

AWARD 1: RECREATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP: Boys and girls ages 5 to 12 (12 Month enrollment to Bay Area Soccer Academy, 1 Uniform, 3 days a week, 2-hour class, and scrimmage) $885.00 Retail Value.

AWARD 2: COMPETITIVE SCHOLARSHIP: Boys and girls ages 13 to 18 (12 Month enrollment to Pitbull’s Club, 1 Uniform, 3 days a week, 2-hour class, scrimmage, and Saturday/and or Sunday High Level league play) $1,345.00 Retail Value.

Parents must provide Soccer Shin guards, and Soccer Cleats.  

Player holding a valid BASA or Pitbulls Club pass card, are fully insured for play and participation in any open event.  

PPSC is an affiliate member of Bay Area Soccer Academy Home of the Pitbull’s Club, USASA Affiliate Member, SFSFL Member, US Club Soccer & NorCal Premier Soccer Affiliate Member directed by Dario Arredondo serving the California community since 1999.
